Alfonso did a great job presenting his research on codon optimizing Sindbis virus capsid proteins to increase packaging efficacy at this year’s PathMaker Scholars Research Symposium. He will be taking his well-earned lab skills to the University of Idaho in the fall. Congrats on a successful summer of research and best of luck in college, Alfonso!

Congratulations to Alexa Gormick on securing an internship at Octant, a drug discovery biotech company based in Emeryville, CA. The lab celebrated her new position with a picnic at Little Dell Reservoir. Best of luck, Alexa!

Welcome back to our Pathmaker Scholar, Alfonso Zavala-Salinas! Alfonso is returning to the lab this summer to continue his work with Katie Rondem on optimizing our VEGAS platform.

Libby Mumby was invited to give a talk at the 2024 Phosphorylation and G-Protein Mediated Signaling Networks Gordon Research Conference in Waterville Valley, New Hampshire where she presented her work on proximity labeling approaches for molecular pharmacology. Well done, Libby!

May 2nd

Libby Mumby passed her prelim exam today! She is now an official PhD candidate and is working on developing a method to profile the G beta-gamma effecterome. Congrats Libby!

March 29th

Congrats to our Bioinformatics Data Analyst, Sam Himes, on his new position at ARUP! Sam joined us as a master’s student and helped develop the analysis pipeline and data visualizer for the lab’s TRE-MPRA platform. We are excited to see what he does next at ARUP! Best of luck, Sam!
